Waterproof properties of the component the resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured by the height of a column of water in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. A component with a waterproof measure of 2000mm withstands the pressure of 2000mm of water (that is approximately equivalent to a 2-hour downpour).

Water repellent properties of the component the water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to allow water to slide off the surface without absorbing it. Consequently, the fabric does not become soaked remaining light, breathable and warm. This water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's outer surface. This treatment must be repeated during the product's life (every 2 to 3 washes on average). Treatment products are available in our stores. All the Quechua waterproof jackets have a water repellent treatment.

Care instructions:
Machine washable at 30ºC. Use laundry liquid and no fabric softener. Close the zips and touch'n'close straps prior to washing. Reactivate water repellent properties using a suitable treatment every 2 to 3 washes.
