What is a waterproofing test or "shower test"? Approved test in which your Raincoastal warm women's jacket is placed under a shower simulating different weather conditions. All our products are certified 100% waterproof having been tested for 4+ hours in rain of 100 l/hr/sqm to 450l/hr/sqm depending on the product use. To give you an idea:
the world record for 4.5 hours of precipitation was 174 l/hr/sqm, unmatched since 1942 in the USA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, USDC). Average rainfall in Paris is 2l/h/sqm (Paris.fr)

Water repellency: Water repellency is achieved through a treatment applied to the exterior of your Raincoastal warm women's jacket. This treatment causes water to slide over the surface without soaking in. This prevents the component from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime. Water-repellent treatment products are available in our stores.

How important is windproofing? Protection from the wind is critical, as wind can chill the body significantly whether you are active or at rest. According to the "windchill" model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind and cold: At a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30 km/h, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C and wind speed is 40 km/h, the temperature felt will be -7°C. Your Raincoastal warm women's jacket counters the windchill effect.

What is the clo index? The clo is the scale that measures the thermal resistance of your Raincoastal warm women's jacket. During the test, your technical garment's component is exposed to a temperature close to body temperature and a controlled exterior temperature. The clo index explains the ability of your Raincoastal warm women's jacket to retain your body heat inside the garment. The higher the clo index, the better the technical component will preserve the heat emitted by your body.

Composition

100% polyester for the light colours, 100% polyamide for the dark colours

Care instructions:

Machine wash your Raincoastal warm and waterproof women's jacket at 30°C, inside out with the velcro fastened and without softener. Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. Line dry if possible. Occasionally tumble drying on low for a short period of time will improve the water repellent treatment. To reactivate the water repellency, you can also warm iron the fabric (max 110°C) or apply the Tribord re-waterproofing spray.
